Daphne provides a welcoming and relaxed learning environment with an easily explained style of teaching but the lessons were also fun and very accurately relevant to the Driving Test. Although there’s a lot to remember she made it all seem simple and easy to understand so I learned quickly and enjoyed my lessons.

Daphne’s teaching style is very laid back so I didn’t feel under any pressure when driving and I progressed really quickly, unlike with my previous Instructor who got impatient with me and made me feel nervous. Some of my friends had already passed their tests with my Mum before I turned 17 so I was lucky she was used to teaching learners by then! We fell out a bit to start with because I didn’t like her telling me what to do but I had to listen in the end and I passed in Brighton with only 2 minors. I was glad my Mum taught me to drive and she says if she can teach me, then she can teach anyone!! Thanks a lot Mum xxx

I did my driving lessons with Daphne because a lot of my friends had recommended her and, although we started off in her car, I was doing a lot of practise in my own car as well. I wanted to take the test in my car because I was more used to the clutch and gears so she suggested we took some of my lessons in it beforehand. I’m glad she trusted me to do this because its worked out cheaper for me and means I’ll be more confident on the road now that I’ve passed.

Driving has made my life much easier! I have so much more freedom now and managed to pass first time with only a few minors. I would highly recommend Daphne and her Real-Life Driving School to anyone wanting to learn to drive.

I was always working so it was difficult to find an Instructor who was flexible and able to do my lessons early in the mornings, during the evenings and at weekends. Even when my boots were muddy Daphne didn''t mind picking me up or dropping me off on site so I could work around my job - otherwise I dont think I would have found the time to carry on and Pass my Test - thanks Daphne!

A friend of mine who’d passed first time
with Daphne recommended her to me.
I had tried a number of different instructors before and she was definitely the best because she never got cross and helped me see the funny side when things went wrong. I was much more relaxed and comfortable which made me drive better and I passed the test quickly because I felt more confident.

I was learning with another Instructor for a few months before I started with Real-Life and I really didn’t enjoy my lessons because he didn’t explain things very well. However, when I started with Daphne I gained a lot more confidence in my driving and I was so pleased when I passed 1st time!

My sister and I both passed 1st time with Daphne – My driving lessons were interesting and fun and I learned quickly because of the easy way she explained things. I decided to learn with Daphne because my brother passed first time with her and then I did too! I had a few driving lessons with another Instructor a couple of years ago but then gave up and started again with her – she knew I wanted to pass quickly and I did it in less than 20 hours, which was brilliant and now I’m looking forward to getting my own car as soon as possible! I had been driving my own car for some time and really needed to pass my test so that I could go out on my own without having to ask my friends and parents to sit with me every time. Daphne got me out of all my ‘bad habits’ and helped me become more safety aware so that I could pass the test and also improve my manoeuvres as well as my general driving skills. We also had a lot of laughs along the way which made everything more fun!

I passed first time and very quickly, within a few months, which was my target. The learning environment was relaxed and friendly and it didn’t matter if I made mistakes as we were able to go over things again without me feeling I wasn’t progressing. By keeping things varied the lessons were never boring and always enjoyable. I felt completely ready for my test and would say that Daphne was a very good teacher throughout.

Daphne gave very thorough and well-structured lessons but in a relaxed and enjoyable way. We quickly progressed to learning the manoeuvres and I took a cancellation test at short notice so we covered as much as possible of the test area within a few lessons. I managed a first time pass in Hove and have enjoyed driving in my own car ever since.

My brother recommended Daphne to me and I enjoyed learning to drive from the very first lesson. We did a lot of driving around Eastbourne as well as in Brighton, so I was able to choose the Test Centre I preferred and I had plenty of experience of driving on different types of roads and tackling roundabouts before I passed. I was very nervous when I first started learning to drive and never thought I’d be able to remember everything! We drove in quiet places for the first few months until I was ready to tackle the busier roads. Once I’d been driving for a while I found I could do a lot more than I realised and this helped me to really enjoy my lessons. I was so pleased when I passed in Brighton – and my family were really proud of me too!

I had started to learn to drive a few years ago but never really enjoyed my lessons until I met Daphne. We did a lot of driving in the dark at first because the roads were much quieter and we gradually moved on to driving in busy traffic during the rush hour, so I have made masses of progress in my driving skills. Although I passed my test in Brighton, we also drove to Eastbourne during my lessons so I could get used to dual carriageways and roundabouts – I’m now able to drive anywhere without worrying. I had been learning to drive on and off since I was 17 and had a number of different Instructors. I found it difficult to find one that suited me until my brother recommended Daphne to me after passing first time with her. I had never driven into Brighton or anywhere very busy before and Daphne really challenged me to try things that I found difficult. We had a lot of funny things happen and I always looked forward to our driving lessons and I was so relieved when I passed in Brighton before the Test Centre closed in January!
